Ways to celebrate that special man in your life on Father's Day

Jun 11, 2022

Father’s Day is fast approaching, and you can often be left wondering how to celebrate that special man in your life. Creating memories is a great way to show just how much he means to you, so we have thought of some different ideas to mark the special occasion.

Start the day right with breakfast in bed

Prepare breakfast for him and let him eat in bed. Rope the kids in and cook up his favourite to start the day off. We're thinking... pastries with a steaming cup of coffee, yummy!

Have a Father’s Day BBQ – but don’t let him cook!

We don’t know what it is, but a BBQ is often seen as the territory for Dads. However, it would seem unfair to ask him to cook, so why not fire up the BBQ yourself. Host a get together in the garden and invite family over so you can celebrate. There are many national parks that allow you to book their BBQ equipment if you fancy a change of scenery, and less mess in the kitchen afterwards!

Create a Father’s Day indoor picnic

We love the idea of creating an indoor picnic and we know the kids will as well. They can help prepare the food and set everything up, ready for the occasion. The bonus of a picnic is that you can prepare the food before hand, so you can make the most of the day with your loved ones rather than cooking.

Watch his favourite film

Why not watch his favourite films with his go-to treats? Everyone has that film they've watched 100's of times, so why not indulge him and watch it again, together. You could even set up an outdoor cinema in the garden for the night.

Games night in

Gather around the table and get the board games out for some good old fashioned fun! No screens, no distraction, just the family and a pack of cards. Remember, no fighting!

Enjoy the fresh air – by bike or foot

Venture out and enjoy a bike ride or a walk to a local beauty spot (you could take that picnic you prepared). Spending time together as a family is a great way to create memories and a bit of exercise as well is great for the soul.

What about a spot of garden camping?

Set up the tent in the garden and camp under the stars but with the added bonus of being able to drag your own duvet and pillows out from the house (and use your own facilities when nature calls!). Don’t forget your citronella candles to keep pesky bugs at bay!

We hope we have inspired you and helped by sharing ideas. So, whoever you’re celebrating this Father’s Day, we hope you have an amazing day
